Another exciting HD announcement has been made. According to High-Def Digest Warner Brothers will be releasing John Boorman’s classic backwoods thriller Deliverance (1973) on both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD on September 18th. The SD-DVD of this was so poor that I sold it without watching it all the way through. The audio track was very badly out of synch and the transfer left a lot to be desired. I expect that this release will not only rectify these problems but also offer some breathtaking HD shots of the woodland setting. There are also some interesting extras on offer. This will be a definite purchase. I am now waiting for Warner to announce the HD releases of The Exorcist (1973) and Dirty Harry (1969).
