Corpse Bride (2005) HD-DVD

Whilst not being an ardent supporter of Tim Burton I do enjoy his films. I must have seen the first Batman (1989) at least twenty times, I can recall watching it three times in less than twenty-four hours in a hotel room when I was ten. I have never seen the Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), it is just one of those films that I have not got round to watching. With US $ to UK ?? exchange rate being so high I decided to order a number of DVDs from DVD Pacific and the HD-DVD of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride (2005) was one of them.

This disc has received rave reviews for it’s visual quality and yesterday I decided to give it a quick spin to see if the hype was genuine. I would go as far to say that Corpse Bride, along with King Kong (2005) are currently the most impressive HD-DVD releases I have seen so far. The picture quality is flawless, I doubt that it looked better than this on the cinema screen. The colours are beautiful and the image has depth. This is a must have, demonstration quality disc. As for the film, I have not got round to watching it yet, maybe tomorrow night if the opportunity presents itself.
