Do all good things come in 3’s?

I hate mobile phones. I find them to be an intrusion and it means that people can be in constant touch with you. But I have to have one, as I am always on the move it can come in very handy especially now with the addition of cameras and MP3 players. On Sunday I was out and about and noticed an offer in the window of one of those numerous mobile phone shops that litter shopping centres. I always wonder if mobile phone businesses are merging together to counter Starbucks’ global domination. Somehow I doubt it. Anyway, the offer was in the window of a 3 store, 600 texts and 75 minutes any network, any time for ??15 a month for life. In all the years of owning a mobile phone I have never seen such a good offer before. But as with all mobile phone deals where is the catch? Well, there is none unless you count the eighteen month contract. I had been wanting to upgrade and try and get a cheaper contract for a while. My previous network provider was 02 and they have hiked up their prices considerably over the past few years meaning that if you want an upgrade you have to take on their new price plan.

So to cut a long story short I am now a 3 customer. I opted for the Sony Ericsson Z610i handset to replace my excellent Samsung which has been the best phone I ever owned. The downside of the Z610i is that is has a one of those piano style finish bodies which attracts fingerprints and scratches. I have no idea why designers are so taken with this style, it boggles the mind. But the phone has a 2.0 megapixel camera, an MP3 player and other numerous features. It has only been a week but I am impressed with 3 and the Z610i so far. I hope it continues.
